Open Educational Resources (OER): Home

Open educational resources (OER) are learning materials licensed in such a way as to freely permit educators to share, access, and collaborate in order to customize and personalize content and instruction (Bliss & Patrick, 2013).

OER in Idaho

Idaho Colleges and Universities are a part of a statewide membership to the Open Textbook Network. "Members of the Open Textbook Network can access a suite of materials to adapt for use at their institutions. These materials include slide decks, data collection tools and instructional support" (OTN).

The Idaho State Department of Education website includes reviews for mathematics and ELA/literacy materials and approved OER curricular materials.

The state of Idaho is participating in the K12 OER Collaborative which provides comprehensive, high quality, open educational resources (OER) supporting Mathematics and English Language Arts aligned with state standards.

The Doceo Center at the University of Idaho is also working to educate K12 teachers about OER and offers educational opportunities around the state.
