SPLAT Idea Lab: Android Tablet

Resources to stay current in technology trends for libraries

About

There are many different brands of android tablets. In the Gizmo Garage, we have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. With this tablet you can access the internet, read books and magazines, play games, take pictures, listen to music, watch videos, and a number of other things. The Galaxy is one of the leading Android brands; it is quick, light, and easy to use.

For more information visit Samsung's website:    http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab/

The Gizmo Garage also has an Amazon Kindle Fire tablet. Being an Android tablet, it shares many characteristics with the Galaxy, though there are still some differences. One difference is the home screen setup: the Kindle uses much larger icons than the Galaxy. Another difference is the reader: the Kindle reader goes through the Amazon marketplace, while the Galaxy goes through Google.
